The Connection Between Prostatitis and Omega 3 Fish Oil

Prostatitis is a condition in which the prostate gland gets inflamed and causes a lot of pain. Omega 3 fish oil is recommended by doctors in this condition because prostatitis and omega 3 fish oil are very much related to each other.

It has been found that omega 3 fatty acids reduce inflammation throughout the body. Because of this reason fish oil which is one of the richest sources of omega 3 fats, provides relief in all inflammatory conditions including prostatitis, cystitis and arthritis.

Omega 3 fish oil is good for people of all ages. It is particularly useful for elderly people as it prevents certain degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and is also beneficial for overall health promotion. Doctors have recognized the connection between prostatitis and omega 3 fish oil and therefore they advise everyone to increase their intake of fish and fish oil products.

Omega 3 fatty acids are required for proper development of the brain. They reduce the chances of having depression and anxiety. They are also recommended to pregnant and lactating women to ensure healthy pregnancies and to lower chances of developing postpartum depression and baby blues later on.

It has been found through various studies that people who eat fish on a regular basis are less likely to become victims of sudden cardiac arrest and heart disease. They are overall healthier and happier than people who are omega 3 deficient.

Many omega 3 supplements are available out there to assist in controlling bad cholesterol levels in the body, weight loss, lowering blood pressure and controlling inflammatory conditions. These supplements contain varying concentrations of omega 3 fats. It is recommended to buy a supplement product that contains more DHA than EPA as DHA is more important.

Fish oil capsules are the most common form of omega 3 supplements available on the market. 3 to 4 capsules are normally recommended by doctors to be taken on a daily basis but if you have a sensitive stomach you may decrease the dosage to 1 or 2 capsules. Liquid supplements are good for children as well as elderly people because they are easy to consume and digest.

An alternative to fish oil is flax seed oil which can also be used in prostatitis to get relief from pain and swelling. However, flax seed oil is not recommended to people with high blood pressure and obesity.

Always find good quality nutritional supplements out there to gain maximum benefits from their effectiveness.
